In 1894, Wilbur Raymond King was born in New Albany, Indiana. Upon completion of studying at the Indiana School for the Deaf, around the age of 18 years old, he began tattooing. For many years he toured with the circus/carnival tattooing. Then in the early 40’s he found a new home in central Kentucky with his wife Fannie. Wilbur’s hearing impairment didn’t stop him from being a tradesman, farmer, tattoo artist, and sign painter.
