In June of this year I was privileged enough to take a trip to Denver, Colorado for the book release party for Tattooing As You Like It: The Legacy of Milton Zeis. It was my second time meeting Scott Boyer, author of the book, and his fiancee, Kayla Gronseth. The party was located at the Denver Press Club and very much suited the era of Milton’s work. Many came out for the party and I was pleased with the turnout. I had a great time viewing the book for the first time, socializing, and of course dancing! (See pictures here)

Scott and Kayla put in a lot of time and energy into doing research and putting the book together. Tattooing As You Like It is a 291 page book that compiles Milton Zeis’s personal and professional life. It shares his legendary story and how he impacted the tattooing community. The book contains information on where it all began, how he grew the business, and how it all concluded. There are also nice pictures of The Zeis Studio catalogs and advertisements, as well as design sheets. It also shares some of Zeis’s School lessons, correspondence, and marketing. At the end of Tattooing As You Like It, 100 tattooers were asked to replicate Milton’s flash sheets into their own artwork. I enjoyed seeing how so many people interpreted these designs differently. I want to personally thank Scott and Kayla for their hard work. It means a lot to me that Milton’s story lives on.
